Growing up in India, I have practiced Yoga throughout my childhood at home and School. More than anything else Yoga has helped me become aware of the mind and the noise it creates. This mindfulness has increased the clarity of my thinking, brought calmness to my heart and created a sense of overall wellbeing.
In my Ashtanga yoga classes, I remind students to make their yoga practice a moving meditation and be in the present moment by being aware of their body, mind and breath throughout their practice.
I am a retired Accountant. I always wanted to teach Yoga, so I could share the health benefits of yoga that I experienced with others. In June of 2015 I completed my 200 hour teacher training with LifeTime Fitness, under the guidance of well known yoga teacher Jonny Kest.
I recently moved from Connecticut to the Washington, DC area. I have been teaching Ashtanga yoga in Connecticut ever since I received my Yoga teacher certification in year 2015.
