Dawn is a long-time vegetarian and advocate for the earth and her creatures. She and her husband care for two cats and two conures (all rescues!). In the early 2000’s, her yoga journey began with a likely story – back and neck pain! After studying and performing dance through childhood and college, her body needed a different kind of care. She trained in multiple traditions of mind-body activities from traditional Hatha Yoga to Oriental dance and Qigong, Thai Yoga Massage, Yoga Nidra and Advanced Usui Reiki. In 2010 she completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher certification with Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health. Most recently, she completed the 100-hour Yin Yoga Instructor program led by TJ Maher at BHNY. By sharing her yoga practice, she hopes to help others feel better, get stronger and have fun in the process!
Her yoga inspiration is the wonder of movement as a creative and expressive process that makes way for a grateful and peaceful mind.

My first job was picking strawberries and cucumbers. And I always keep peanuts in the car for squirrels!
"To experience peace does not mean that your life is always blissful. It means that you are capable of tapping into a blissful state of mind amidst the normal chaos of a hectic life." - Jill Bolte Taylor
