Monica began studying yoga in 1997 initially to steady her “monkey mind” through asana practice.
Her fascination with yoga beyond the asanas led Monica to seek advanced training. Honoring her studies with Iyengar teachers, Monica brings a strong focus on precision and alignment, while cultivating an open-hearted practice that honors all eight limbs of yoga. With over 12 years of teaching experience and studying various yoga lineages her education allows students to learn yoga’s foundations while opening their hearts and connecting with spirit. Her passion for social justice infuses her classes with curiosity, inquisitiveness, understanding and playful joy. Monica is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) with Yoga Alliance.
Monica is a creative dabbler currently obsessed with cross stitching.
She is also an avid runner of half marathons (sometimes dressed as a unicorn), bike rider and can usually be found hanging out with her favorite shenanigans partner – her wife, Fran.
