Job Title:  Front Desk Staff

Job Type: Part Time

Classification: Non-exempt, hourly

Salary and Benefits:  $12/hour for minimum 20 hours as well as unlimited yoga classes (during non-shift hours) and discounts on various workshops and wellness services

Schedule: Flexible. Minimum 4 shifts (3 weekday and 1 weekend). Available shifts: Monday-Friday (4:30pm-9:30pm) Sat-Sun (9am-1pm or 2pm-7pm) 

Reports to: Studio Manager 

About the Role

The Front Desk Staff establishes personable relationships with our studio clients, visitors, and the studio team. This staff greets all visitors and sets the tone for their experience. The successful candidate must be warm, friendly, and be able to deliver consistently strong customer service as well as maintain a positive attitude. The person must be responsible and have a good work ethic, passionate about yoga and wellness, and a team player.  

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Customer Service
    • Welcome all visitors according to our Customer Service standards; answer telephone in a courteous manner
    • Check clients into class/workshop/etc through software system 
    • Ensure clients provide appropriate pay methods for classes/services
    • Document and resolving client and studio maintenance issues, and report to issues to studio managers.
    • Assist clients with questions about studio’s policies and procedures (e.g. : memberships, class passes and packages, studio services, retail products, pricing, etc.)
    • Actively promote and sell studio products and memberships to all visitors
    • Check that all clients complete all required paperwork/forms before participating in classes and/or healing sessions
  • Studio Operations
    • Complete shift  duty checklist 
    • Keep studio tidy and clean
    • Keep supplies stocked and update inventory
    • Work with studio staff to support the financial goals and operational needs of the studio
    • Maintain studio’s warm, welcoming, and clean environment
    • Adhere to employee handbook and any other guidelines provided by studio managers/owners
    • Any other tasks required from studio managers/owners within staff’s scope of work

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience working in a customer service role
  • Experience working in retail, yoga, wellness, and/or health industry is a plus
  • Experience with MindBody software system preferred
  • Experience with yoga practice is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for up to five hours at a time. The employee is occasionally required to do physical labor such as emptying the trash, carrying boxes, arranging furniture. The job requires the person to climb up and down flights of stairs
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust and focus
  • Strong verbal skills (proficient in English)
  • Must be able to effectively hear in person and via telephone
